About this game

A Red tank and a Blue tank start at opposite ends of a small maze, seen from above. Each player has two buttons. Hold Drive and the tank goes forward. Let go and it turns slowly on the spot, so you aim by letting go and waiting for the barrel to come round.

Fire sends a shell across the maze. Shells bounce off the walls and vanish after 4 seconds, and they hit any tank they meet, including the one that fired them. One hit ends the round and the other player gets a point. First to 5 points wins.

On a phone held upright, Red's buttons are at the bottom and Blue's are at the top, turned round. Two children put the phone flat on the table between them and both press at once. On a laptop or the board, Red's buttons are at the left and Blue's at the right, and the keyboard works too.

The computer plays Blue. It drives towards you through the maze and fires when it sees a straight shot or one off a wall. It takes a moment to react and doesn't always aim straight, so children beat it often enough.

Each round starts with a countdown and uses a different maze. Both ends of every maze are the same, so neither side starts with an easier way through.
