About Big Dice

Press Roll and the dice are thrown into a wooden tray. They tumble, knock into each other and come to rest. Each die then turns so the number on top faces the class.

Each die is a different colour. Switch on Total and the sum appears above the tray, with each die's number in its own colour. Leave it off when you want the class to add them up.

How it works

1. Choose how many dice (one to six) and how many sides (6, 10 or 20).
2. Six-sided dice can show dots or numerals.
3. Press Roll, press Space, or tap the tray.
4. Press Total to show or hide the sum.

Good for

• Addition and number bonds with two or three dice
• Subitising with dots in the early years
• Board games and maths games played as a whole class
• Picking a group, a question or a turn
